Meet Dream Girl Brooke Holiday

Meet Dream Girl Brooke Holiday

Meet Brooke Holiday, a longtime SISTER and dream girl we are utterly obsessed with.

We've been fortunate enough to have Brooke be part of a few SISTER shoots and we think she totally represents the ultimate SISTER gal.

Based in Naarm, Brooke is a creative, model, pilates instructor at local Thornbury Studio and absolute ray of sunshine.

With an impressive still life painting talent and collection, Brooke's works are not only available via her Instagram, but she is open to commissions if you so desire. We adore her painting style and the signature colours she uses.

We were lucky to have Brooke answer a few of our dreamiest questions below whilst she was spending time reflecting in Melbourne’s latest lockdown...

What does work mean to you and what do you do?
I teach pilates and am a primary school teacher. I feel so lucky to do what I love…teaching adults and children teaches me so much about holding space to be real, authentic and open to new ideas and ways of thinking about the world. My work is how I connect to my community.
Tell us a dream you’ve made come true?
Achieving dream lucidity!
How do you unwind?
Paint a still life, take a bath, read a book.
How do you wind up?
Put on some lippy, put on some Grace Jones, dance ecstatically.
What does the word sisterhood mean to you?
“Sisterhood is about cultivating solidarity and fuelling a narrative of togetherness amongst women… it’s a f*** you to the systems that permeate compare and despair ideologies and in-fighting amongst women. Sisterhood is power, and empowerment, it’s succeeding fully together."

What can friends count on you for?
Cute snacks, choreographed dance routines and acts of love.

What does your dream house look like?
Garden full of flowers and things to eat, sunny spots.
What’s your baking specialty?
Lately, likely something that has evolved from a still life… paint quince, stew quince, bake a cake!

Favourite food?
Fresh figs, anchovies, spaghetti alle vongole, choooocccoooolate!

Your most memorable holiday?
One year in NYC with my BFF <3

Whats on your bedside table right now?
A cryptic crossword from 3 Saturday papers ago, Sex & Lies by Laila Slimani, some poems by Eileen Miles and a big glass of water."

Ocean or desert?

Sunrise or sunset?

Favourite smell?
Night-blooming jasmine on a night-time walk.

The first album you ever bought is…?
ABBA Gold.

What are you listening to now?
Lockdown has made my world feel smaller, listening to music from far-away places is keeping me curious, like this mix: Mythical creatures of the Orient.

One or two things you want to do before you leave earth?
Learn to sail.
